Description

Wood Elves are skilled warriors who wield the spear, bow and sword with unmatched grace. Plus they are woodland creatures, able to navigate through the woods unhindered. This box contains 24 models. All models are to 28mm scale and will need assembly and painting.

As with all GW models, these guys break easily. They're plastic models an gaming pieces, not children's toys.So. The sculpts are all pretty good, though they could do with a bit more detail on the torso...maybe just more folds of cloth (?). As with other similar box sets (Galadhrim Warriors, Uruk-hai, etc...)you get only enough pieces to make 8 each of bow, glaive, and spear-armed elves, which makes it incredibly frustrating for trying to arrange them in companies (I mainly play War of the Ring). It means you have to either mix-up the spears and glaives and call them all just 'hand weapons', or have 3 really weak formations. Which is of course a likely ploy to make you buy more boxes so you can bolster your uniquely-armed companies, but whatever.Overall they perform pretty well. The Elves are, as usual, ridiculous archers. Their courage is handy against stuff like Angmar, although I've found the glaive-armed guys work best as a kind of suicide unit to charge the front lines since they have such poor defense.
