This handheld device is awesome for travel with the kids as it doesn’t require internet. The games are a little challenging to figure out but that was my six year old and he got it on his own thenWonderful console, great for kids and adults! Would recommend.classic gamesI am a retro fan. I have full sized arcade machines, built retro TV boxes and have a lot of retro handhelds. So when I came across this little handheld with "classic games" and "retro games", I had to get it. But it is not exactly how they it was described.The E-MODS GAMING Handheld comes in a retail box. Opening the box accesses the handheld, MiniUSB charging cable, wrist lanyard, manual and cloth holding bag. It comes already in the cloth bag, so you only need to remove, charge and play. Nothing requires assembly. The handheld has a headphone jack, power slider, volume dial and MiniUSB port for charing. It also has a D-Pad, 6 action buttons, reset button and menu button.The device uses a 3" TFT screen, but has good brightness and okay viewing angles. For a TFT style screen, it is better than many other handhelds in its price range. I charged it for 2 hours and played it for 3, without the handheld draining, but it was low on power at the end of the 3 hours.The issue with the handheld is that it isn't exactly as described. First, the games on the unit are very simple kids games. While they look nice and play well for my 5 year old, there aren't any "retro" or "classic" games. Most games play like graphically upgraded game-and-watch or older LCD handheld games -- yes, that simple! There is an education section with a nice selection of simple math and matching style games, so this isn't a bad system for a 5 year old. This is not for adults! Second, the description says it uses a MicroUSB cable for charging, when it actually uses a MiniUSB cable. While not a big issue, since it comes with a cable, MicroUSB cables are common and many people already have them and think they can use them to also charge this. This will require its own outlet and setup.While this is a neat little handheld for a child, it isn't as described. If you are looking for something with retro games or classic games, this is not it. If you want something to hand your child that has games that aren't very challenging, this may be a decent system for them.I got this as a Christmas gift for my 7 year old that loves games and who could ever get tired and bored when there are over 200 games to play! It’s small and compact so it doesn’t take up too much space and it’s he can control it easy and the place it in his pocket when not in use. I tested it out of box for issue and had none. For the price I think it shows a good picture as well and I’m not complaining!
